Mobile engineering, outsourced

Half the cost.
Months, not years.

Flagship Mobile Engineering is the mobile team you don’t have to hire. We design, build and ship production iOS and Android apps — and the cloud backends behind them — and we prove your product strategy with real market data before a line of code is written.

The problem

Your roadmap shouldn’t wait on a hiring plan.

01

Senior mobile hires are slow

Months of recruiting before a single line ships — and a team that’s hard to scale back down when the launch is done.

02

Three stacks, three teams

iOS, Android and the backend each want their own specialists, process and release train.

03

Rebuilds drag on for years

Legacy apps get rewritten alongside feature work, so the new version is always a quarter away.

04

Built to spec, not to intent

Engineers who don’t listen ship the wrong thing — then you pay for the rework and lose another quarter.

Strategy validation with marketing science

Prove the strategy before you pay to build it.

Plenty of apps are built well — for the wrong thing. Before engineering starts, we test your product bet against the real market, so you walk into the build with evidence, not opinions.

Demand tests

Live ads and landing pages measure who actually clicks, signs up or pre-orders.

Prototype tests

Clickable prototypes in front of your real users to find what confuses or sells.

Message & price

A/B tests on positioning and pricing, so launch day isn’t your first experiment.

A clear call

Build it, change it, or drop it — with the data behind the decision.

How it works

One senior team. Your stack. Shipped.

Step 1

Technical call

We talk to your engineering lead about the product, the systems it touches and the deadline.

Step 2

Prove the strategy

Marketing science tests demand, messaging and the riskiest features with real users first.

Step 3

Architecture & plan

A written architecture, milestone plan and price — so you know scope and cost before work starts.

Step 4

Weekly builds

Installable builds every week, demoed to your leaders and reviewed with your team. No black box, no surprises.

Step 5

Launch & handoff

We ship to the App Store and Google Play, document everything, and hand off — or stay on to run it.

From the field

~$3M a year.
Three years.

That’s what we’ve watched one enterprise mobile rebuild cost at a billion-dollar company. A focused senior team could have shipped it in a few months, for well under half the spend. That gap is why we started this firm.

Recent work

We’ve built the hard kind of app before.

Enterprise scale

Podium

Mobile engineering for a platform now valued at over a billion dollars.

Financial services

American Express

Mobile work held to the security and reliability bar of a global card network.

On-demand marketplaces

Delivery & rideshare-style apps

Several multi-sided apps: customers, drivers and businesses, real-time tracking, dispatch and payments.

A home-services company was quoted over a year for three apps. We shipped them in two weeks.

We built three connected apps — one for the business, one for its technicians and one for its customers — plus the cloud backend behind them. Customer intake is now fully automated and nearly all client onboarding runs on its own, which let the business 10x its growth.

“We’d been quoted more than a year for our apps. Flagship built all three in two weeks. Intake and onboarding now run themselves, and it’s let us 10x our growth.”

FAQ

Questions engineering leaders ask us.

How do you cut cost in half?

Senior engineers who don’t need ramp-up, architecture patterns we’ve already proven at scale, and no recruiting or long-term headcount on your books. The savings hold whether we build in Flutter or fully native.

What is marketing science?

Before we build, we run small, fast experiments — live ads, landing pages, clickable prototypes and pricing tests — to show whether customers want what’s on the roadmap. You get the data and a clear recommendation before committing the engineering budget.

How do you make sure you build what we actually want?

We write the plan back to you in plain language, demo working software to your leaders every week, and treat your feedback as the spec. Misunderstandings get caught in days, not at launch.

Will it fit our architecture and security requirements?

We start with your systems, auth and compliance needs, and write the architecture down before we build. Your team reviews every pull request.

Where is your team based?

Every engineer and employee is US-based and works in-house out of Utah. We don’t use overseas contractors — the work is done by our own team, start to finish.

What happens after launch?

You own the code and docs. We can hand off to your team, train them, or stay on for ongoing releases.

Flutter or native?

Both. Flutter when one shared codebase fits your product; pure native Swift and Kotlin when you need deep platform features, already have a native codebase, or that’s your team’s standard. Either way, about half the cost of building it in-house.
